About Joel
Passing down Stories of God's Grace and Wisdom to Future Generations
Joel 1:1-4
The word of the Lord that came to Joel son of Pethuel.
An Invasion of Locusts
Hear this, you elders;
listen, all who live in the land.
Has anything like this ever happened in your days
or in the days of your ancestors?
Tell it to your children,
and let your children tell it to their children,
and their children to the next generation.
What the locust swarm has left
the great locusts have eaten;
what the great locusts have left
the young locusts have eaten;
what the young locusts have left
other locusts have eaten.
Our Story
One day, while reading Joel 1:1–4, I was struck by something I hadn’t noticed before. I had been studying the passage for a while, wrestling with its imagery of destruction and loss, when a deeper truth suddenly became clear. In verse 3, God commands, *“Tell your sons about it, and let your sons tell their sons, and their sons the next generation.”* In that moment, I realised—God deeply cares about generational legacy. He desires that we pass down stories of event,s spiritual insight, truth, and warnings from one generation to the next. That revelation changed the way I viewed family and faith. It's not just about our personal walk with God; it's about making sure the knowledge of Him doesn’t die out with us.
